Columbia Center for Student Advising

Ms. Braasch was the Project Architect for the Columbia University Center for Student Advising while working at Stephen Yablon Architect.  For more information click here to visit the SYA website.

From SYA:

An innovative interior campus houses an entirely new team-based approach to student advising.  Public spaces scattered throughout orient students, encourage informal meetings between advisors and students, and engender staff collaboration.  Tile floors and reflective perforated metal ceilings, recall the same motif used in the first phase of this project: the paving of the most iconic outdoor space on campus.  Each public space has a name, selected by students, which is portrayed on illuminated signs.  Light colored finished, abundant natural light, and a generous amount of glass are used to create a warm, spacious, and contemporary environment.
